Heat Loss Surveys

What is a heat loss survey?

A heat loss survey assesses the current level of heat loss from your property, as well as identifying the potential for installing a more efficient and cost effective system.
There are many factors that can cause heat loss, and our survey will capture details of:

Thermal characteristics of floors and walls

Room sizes & uses

Window & door sizes and types

Adjacent and party rooms

Current radiators, radiator pipe types and sizes

Exposed location of property & intermittent heat requirements

Following the survey, our technical team analyse their findings to accurately calculate specific heating and hot water requirements for your property.  By designing a system to operate at the lowest flow temperature possible, we can unlock maximum efficiency from the system, reducing overall running costs.
We charge £140 + VAT for a heat loss survey.  This includes the survey, a fully comprehensive PDF report provided to you via email, and a follow up discussion on our recommendations and next steps.
Should you decide to go a head with the air source heat pump, the cost of this survey will be deducted from your final bill.

As the survey covers both internal and external aspects of your property, you will need to be in attendance for the duration of the survey.

A heat loss survey can take around 2 hours, depending on the size of your property.

If you’ve not come across them already, we would recommend watching the following YouTube videos by Heat Geeks.

Heat Geeks are an impartial and independent organisation offering advice on all aspects of the heating industry, and many of our customers tell us these are a great help in understanding heat loss surveys.
