Alnwick Full Home Solution, Solar PV, heat Pump,
Battery Storage, UFH

Our Alnwick based client is in the process of going through a substantial renovation project for their single floor property, which involves splitting the home into two parts and one section serving as an annex.

They reached out to EcoFuture for a full home renewables solution to take care of their heating and energy needs. We provided the couple with underfloor heating throughout both parts of the property, along with 2x Vaillant aroTHERM Plus Air Source Heat Pumps and plant room area.

For the electrical side of things we fitted 18x in-roof 420 watt All Black JA Solar Panels to the South facing side of their property, with 2x GivEnergy 9.5kW batteries and Gen 3 5kw Hybrid Inverter installed into their garage space.

About this solar PV system

Maximum Efficiency

The first stage of this large renewables project was installing the Solar PV. Scaffolding was erected on the South facing roof located at the rear of the property, and the process of removing excess tiles and fitting the in-roof panels began. After this process we installed the two GivEnergy 9.5kw batteries and hybrid inverter in the clients garage area.

The second stage was prepping the floor space for the Underfloor Heating system. We cleared away the existing flooring and starting planning a route for the underfloor piping, which ran across 3 zones of the property. After the piping was laid  we started the screeding process, which took over a week to dry whilst on a screed drying process.

The third stage was installing the 2x 7kw Vaillant Heat Pumps and plantroom. The Heat pumps were installed upon concrete plinths at the side of the property with the plantroom area installed on the adjacent wall inside. The plantroom includes a 300L Vaillant Hot Water Cylinder, Vaillant 120 Heat Exchanger and 45L Buffer.

The project consisted of many technologies working in tandem along with other home upgrades to produce a full home renewables solution that will not only allow the client to produce their own energy, but save money on their heating bills.

System Benefits

Our client has benefitted from the following improvements thanks to their new

Maximum Savings

Install benefits explained...

Our client went for a full in-roof 18 panel solar array system with 2x GivEnergy battery storage and GivEnergy hybrid inverter. This renewables combo working in tandem means they will see a significant reduction in their energy bills and carbon footprint. They will also be less reliant on the grid as they can now generate and store free, clean energy for later use.

The 2x Vaillant Air Source Heat pumps have provided the couple with 330% heating efficiency during October (one of the coldest months of the year) while easily  running the underfloor heating system to warm the property and provide them with hot water.

Not only can our client generate their own energy, but they are now utilising off-peak tariffs offered by Octopus Energy. This opens the doors for them to store power from the grid at cheaper times and use it during busier periods, or avoid power cuts if the grid goes down within the area.

System Installation

Ecofuture provide air source & solar panel installs in County Durham and the surrounding areas.

Air source & Solar Installation

How did we install this system?

We erected the scaffolding quickly and efficiently before installing the in-roof solar array. While the panels were being fitted we also installed the two GivEnergy batteries and Gen 3, 5kW hybrid Inverter. These were all installed without issue or disruption to the client.

The underfloor heating was laid across 3 zones without issue, and the screeding was set on a drying process that increased the water temperature by 1 degree per day. Once the underflooring was fully cured after 2 weeks we went to work fitting the rest of the heat system.

We fitted the 2x Air Source Heat Pumps upon concrete plinths without delay whilst working on installing the plantroom area. The plantroom was connected up to the underfloor heating system without issue, and thermostat controls placed in each zone to regulate temperature.
