Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)

This scheme provides funding to support the decarbonisation of heat in buildings. It provides upfront capital grants to support the installation of heat pumps and biomass boilers in homes and non-domestic buildings in England and Wales.

Acting on behalf of property owners, installers can apply for:

£7500 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump
£450 million of grant funding is available over three years from 2022 to 2025.

0% VAT on all renewable installations

This government funded measure introduces a zero-rate of VAT for the installation of certain Energy Saving Materials in residential accommodation in Great Britain until 31 March 2027. It also permanently brings wind and water turbines back into scope of the relief in Great Britain. In Northern Ireland, the list of qualifying goods and rate of VAT due on installations will remain unchanged.
