Tesla Powerwall 3
Expansion Pack Review
The wait is finally over! Tesla’s Powerwall 3 Expansion Packs are now available! What is an expansion pack you say? Well it’s essentially an additional battery storage device that is designed just for the Tesla Powerwall 3.
In the past if you wanted to expand your battery storage you would have to buy a whole new battery to go alongside the current one. As you can imagine this would be rather costly if you require multiple batteries to be installed at your property.
The newly released expansion packs by Tesla eliminate this process by providing you a cost effective way of upgrading your storage. Unlike buying a whole new battery, the packs do not contain internal electrical components such as inverters or computing power.
The main Powerwall 3 battery acts as the ‘controller unit’ while the expansion packs connect side-by-side (or ‘stacked’ behind one another) and will help provide you with even more storage power.

WHAT WE THOUGHT
Overall Review
Tesla’s all new Expansion Packs are a brilliant addition to their line of Powerwall 3 batteries, and offer a cost effective way for people to increase the storage capacity of their system for homes and businesses.
The packs have the same upmarket build quality that you would expect from a brand such as Tesla, and they are just as easy to install as the main Powerwall 3 itself. They also offer flexibility on how they are connected with the option to install side-by-side or stacked behind each other to save space.
The packs will no doubt be a welcome addition to our customers who are looking to store as much free energy gained from their Solar PV systems, or utilising off-peak tariffs such as Octopus Energy.
With up to 3 systems being able to connect to a single Powerwall 3 battery, this cost effective option will not only increase your energy storage, but increase your peace of mind as well.
