The all new Tesla Powerwall 3 is a massive step up from their predecessors and the main difference being, this generation is an All-In-One battery and inverter.
Unlike the AC coupled Powerwall 2, this new iteration shares similarities to Tesla’s Powerwall+ but sporting a sleeker and more compact frame. This new generation isn’t just more compact than the Plus, it’s more powerful too with higher on-grid and back up power capabilities thrown in to boot.
It’s not just the addition of a built in solar inverter that makes this version better than the Powerwall 2. This new generation of battery can be fitted with most existing solar systems including micro inverters, and can be charged directly from the panels. Since the Powerwall 3 is DC and solar panels are also DC, this means there is no conversion required making it far more efficient than the Powerwall 2.

Overall Review
Overall Tesla’s new generation of battery will no doubt be a sure fire hit on release day due to it’s sleek, compact design that’s packed full of features, as well as sporting a higher charging efficiency than the previous generation.
This new battery system is also more versatile than it’s predecessor, and it’s built in solar inverter enables the battery to connect effortlessly to solar arrays without any DC to AC conversion.
The flexibility of the Powerwall 3 doesn’t end there as it can ‘stacked’ with 4 other Powerwall 3 batteries. This modular design can increase the storage capacity of your home back up system taking the stress away when going through a power outage.
